*We Marched for It, Bled for It, Died for It…Now Vote! Early voting for the 2024 Election has begun in Virginia. Candidates for the President and Vice President of the United States, all 435 U.S. House seats, and 34 of the 100 U.S. Senate seats, including one here in Virginia, are on the ballot. If you will be 18 or older by Nov. 5, 2024, register to vote right away and create a plan to cast your ballot early or on election day. Voting rights, civil rights, and keeping Project 2025 from becoming a reality is riding on the outcome of this election. The stakes are too high to sit this one out.

Deadline to Register or Make Changes - October 15

Deadline to Request a Ballot by Mail  - October 25    

Two Saturdays for Early Voting - Oct 25 & Nov 2

Early Voting Ends - November 2 

Election Day (Tuesday) - November 5 

 

The Spotsylvania County Early Voting site is located at 10300 Spotsylvania Ave., Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. Voting hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday Early Voting ends at 5 p.m.

*Branch Officers Election is Nov. 7. Check Email for ‘Election Buddy’ App! The election will be conducted electronically by the National Office. On November 7, you will receive an email with a ballot with a list of all eligible candidates who were nominated and are seeing to serve a two-year term as officers of the Spotsylvania NAACP Branch. You can vote from 4 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 7 using the ‘Election Buddy’ app link sent to your email. Check to make sure your email is current in your NAACP membership profile.


*Oct. 7 ‘Community Conversations: ‘What’s at Stake in This Election?’ The Fredericksburg Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is hosting a forum with community members, leaders, and elected officials coming together to discuss the impact of the 2024 federal elections and other local issues. It will be held October 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Family Worship Center, 400 Bragg Hill Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Doors open at 6 p.m. Register at www.faacdst.org/events to attend in-person.

The Virginia State Conference NAACP is holding its 89th Annual Convention October 11-13 in Williamsburg. This year’s theme is ‘Our Pride! Our Power! Our Vote!’. Visit www.naacpva.org/convention for registration and convention information.
