*ELECTION IN THE LIVINGSTON DISTIRICT – FEBRUARY 15!

*A People Without the Knowledge of their Past History, Origin and Culture is Like a Tree Without Roots (by Marcus Garvey)
As we enter into the month that is designated as “Black History Month” we ask the question who cares? The perception is Parents don’t talk about it! Kids don’t read about it! Schools don’t teach it! Very few blacks visit the Spotsylvania John J. Wright historical museum. So, where does black history fit in? The new Governor signed an executive order directing school not to teach the real history of Black’s Americans and established a hot line so parents can inform his office when teachers attempt to address this uncomfortable subject. Do we as a people really want to know our history? How much black history do you know? Have you ever sat down with your kids or grandkids and mentioned anything about black history? How about You! What history are you making? Are You helping to improve or make something better for someone else? What is Your legacy going to be? How will Your kids remember You? A tree without roots will float away and eventually be gone from our view. Are blacks and their history fading away? These are question we ask you to ask yourself. How do you feel about black history? Does it really matter? Have we allowed many of those great successes obtained through blood, sweat and tears fall by the wayside or slip away? Do you want to make a difference in your community and create your own legacy, as well as assist in continuing the legacy of our forefathers? Contact us at 540-847-7637.

*VOTING RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY IS UNDER ATTACK! The senate fail to pass the “John Lewis Voters Protection Act” thereby allowing the efforts to limit, restrict and suppress voting from state governments to remain in place. Not only are these efforts by the states limiting citizens right to vote they are attempting to develop systems that would possibly make one’s vote not count and would give elected officials the power to disregard your vote and the official would select the person they wanted to represent the state. This type of action is totalitarian, dictatory and straight out of a third world country. We must continue to fight against such actions and be vigilant so that Virginia doesn’t adopt similar measures. If you want to join us in our fight to save democracy, please contact us at 540-847-7637.
