*UNARMED MAN SHOT BY SPOTSY DEPUTY – COMMUNITY CONVERSATION MAY 8!
*Unarmed Man in Critical Condition after being Shot by Spotsylvania Deputy! Isaiah Brown was shot multiple times by a Spotsylvania County deputy, while allegedly Mr. Brown was only holding a cordless phone. The shooting of an unarmed black man in Spotsylvania County is another unnecessary shooting and clear evidence for the need to ensure passage of George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. This Act, if passed, will reform policing in America and enact police accountability, as well as reduce the trend of police reacting with unnecessary violence in its interaction/encounters with black citizens. In an effort to afford Spotsylvania citizens an opportunity to address their concerns and possibly obtain some answers, we are hosting a “Community Conversation” Town Hall on Zoom to discuss the police shooting of Isaiah Brown and how we can make an impact locally. Visit our webpage or Facebook page for the Zoom link. For questions, please call Mr. Petway at 540-847-7637.
