*It’s Official! Harris-Walz vs. Trump-Vance in 2024 Current Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris is officially the Democratic Party’s 2024 nominee for President. If elected this November, Harris would become the first woman, first person of South Asian descent, and only the second Black person to ascend to the nation’s highest office. Harris selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Harris and Walz will face former President Donald Trump of the Republican Party, who chose U.S. Senator JD Vance of Ohio to be his VP.
The stakes in the 2024 national elections could not be higher for the future of Black people and for democracy itself. So, please make sure you register to vote, encourage your family members, friends, and neighbors to do likewise, develop a voting plan, and either vote early or on Nov. 5, not only for President and Vice President, but also all U.S. House and one U.S. Senate in Virginia. *2024 Election: Virginia Early Voting Starts Sept. 20 Early Voting Begins September 20 Deadline to Register or Make Changes October 15 Deadline to Request a Ballot by Mail October 25 Two Saturdays for Early Voting Oct 25 & Nov 2 Early Voting Ends November 2 Election Day (Tuesday) November 5
